Abstract

Fluid-actuated valves. -A valve for admitting extra air to the induction pipe comprises a suctionactuated piston valve 1 on the stem of a mushroom valve 3 which is controlled by a spring 5 or by a compound spring having coils of different strength in order to give a gradual opening The piston valve controls ports 6 in the casing, preferably pear-shaped and controlled by a handactuated sleeve 8. There may be two ports 6 of different sizes, opened successively by ports in the sleeve 8.
