Abstract

127,374. Jarvis, J. May 6, 1918. Valves; valve-gear. - A beat valve R<2>, which controls a single port leading to the combustion space through a port Y, carries a sliding valve x which reciprocates in a chamber having an inlet port U and an exhaust port T. The valve stem R' is actuated by a pivoted arm engaged by a cam formed on a loose sleeve driven from the crank-shaft through two-toone gearing. The valve mechanism may be applied to engines having radial cylinders. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 9038/91, 12633/96, 11825/10, and 18520/11.
