528,170. Valve gear. HARPER, W. Jan. 21, 1939, No. 5468/40. Divided out of 524,092. [Class 7 (vi)] In a two-stroke engine having two exhaust valves E<3> opened in advance of three other exhaust valves F<4>, and an inlet valve D<5> admitting air from the crank case to a combustion chamber D<1>, all these valves are actuated by a face cam 35 rotated by gearing 31, 32. Cam projections 35EF actuate the two exhaust valves E<3> by means of a rocker 41E, and the three exhaust valves F<4> by rockers 41F, while projections 35D actuate the inlet valve D<5> by means of a rocker 41D. The valve-actuating shafts 30 of a multicylinder engine are coupled together between the cylinders. The engine is described in Specification 524,092.
