[Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] An internal-combustion engine cylinder comprises a light alloy cylinder a having a liner b therein and integral with a clinch plate b<1> having inlet and exhaust valve ports b<2> connected to the inlet or exhaust pipe c fastened to the plate b<1>, by a port a<5> in the cylinder a. An annular space a<2> is formed between the cylinder a and the liner b for cooling oil. A boss a<6> is formed on cylinder a for the valve arrangement comprising a valve g, a valve guide e, a tappet guide f containing a valve spring g<1> and a hollow tappet h operated by a cam i<1>.
