Abstract

628,554. Cylinders of two-stroke engines. ARDEN, T. R. May 24, 1946, No. 15815. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In an arrangement suitable for a miniature engine, the cylinder has inlet and exhaust ports 23, 26 extending round its periphery. The transfer passage from the crank-case is formed by grooves 24 in the bore. The cylinder is screwed into the crank-case which is closed by a screwedin plug 17, and has a flared part 170 provided with opposed lugs for attachment to a model aircraft. Mixture is drawn through a valve 41 in a hollow crankshaft, fuel being sucked from a detachable tank 29 as described in Specification 628,593. A screwed-in cylinder head has a securing rib 21 for engagement by a spanner.
