Abstract
522,996. Cylinders. ORD, L. C. May 27, 1938, Nos. 15852, 17351, and 19682. [Class 7 (ii)] In an engine in which one or more inlet valves is located in a combustion chamber 7, a passage 8 which provides communication between the cylinder and the chamber is overrun by the piston and one or more exhaust valves 4 is located adjacent the passage. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, there is only one inlet and one exhaust valve. In a modified construction the upper wall of the chamber 7 is inclined to the axis of the cylinder and the exhaust valve is located in the inclined wall.
