Abstract
The invention relates to steel alloys. The specification discloses steel alloys containing carbon in the range 0.30 to 0.50%, Nickel 18 to 23%, chromium 20 to 24%, cobalt 5 to 13% and niobium in the range 4.5 to 5.5 times the carbon content with a balance of iron. The alloys may also contain silicon and manganese, and a small amount of Ce. The alloys are particularly suitable for high temperature applications e.g. chemical plant where corrosion resistance is required.
