Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the resistance of a low-C low-N Fe-Cr alloy to corrosion due to sulfur and sulfides such as hydrogen sulfide by adding a specified element to the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Cr alloy is manufactured by adding Cr to Fe contg. < 0.03% C, <0.02% N and 1.2W10% Si so as to adjust the Cr content to 12W35%. To the alloy may be added 0.05W1% in total of one or more among Ti, Nb and Zr and/or 0.003W1% in total of one or more among Ca, Y, Ce, La and Hf. This alloy has superior resistance to corrosion due to sulfides such as sulfur hydrogen sulfide, etc.
