Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the amorphous thin alloy strip excellent in amorphous forming capacity and having high thermal stability comprising a composition of which Fe, B and Si are an atomic number ratio of a specific range respectively.
CONSTITUTION: In a three element system of Fe-Si-B, the amorphous thin alloy strip with a composition shown by the formula Fea-xB100-a-xSi2x [wherein a is 82≤ a≤86, x is 4≤x<9.5 (an atomic number percentage)] is prepared. Said thin alloy strip has an especially high crystallization temp. of 500°C or more and a temp. change of saturation magnetization is low. Further, especially, B is contained a remarkably low amount of B<10at% (x<290-a) but, on the other hand, because amorphous forming capacity is high, an amount of relatively expensive B can be saved and said alloy strip is available from an economical standpoint. Further, in said alloy, 5 at% or less Fe which is a basic component is replaced with other transition metal element such as Cr corresponding to purposes and, thereby, the enhancement of corrosion resistance or the like can be attained.
