Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the corrosion resistance of the alloy against the conc. sulfuric acid at a high temp. by forming a low carbon alloy from a specific composition containing Cr, Ni, Mo, Si, Cu, Mn and comprising the remainder of Fe.
CONSTITUTION: Said alloy with sulfuric acid corrosion resistance contains 18.0W 29.0% of Cr, 20.0W45% of Ni, 4.0W9.0% of Mo, 1.5W5.0% of Si, 0.5W3.0% of Cu, 2.0% or less of Mn, 0.10% or less of C and the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities. Said alloy shows a corrosion amount considerably lower than a limit corrosion amount, for example, even against 98% H2SO4 at 100°C.
