Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject stainless steel containing an a specific composition C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Mo, V, and N.
CONSTITUTION: The subject stainless steel containing, in weight%, C;≤0.2%, Si;≤3.0%, Cr; 20.0 to 40.00%, Ni; 10.0 to 35.0%, Mo; 0.01 to 5.0%, V; 0.6 to 3.0% and N;0.1 to 1.0%, and if required, a member or more than two members selected from the group consisting of B;≤0.2%, Zr;≤0.1%, W;≤3.0%, Cu;≤ 3.0%, Mg;≤0.1%, Ca;≤0.1%, Al;≤0.1%, and the residual part of impurities and Fe. The present stainless steel displays a pitting corrosion resistance equal to or more than that of hastelloy C. The mechanical strenght of the present stainless steel is father excellent as compared with that of the ordinary austenite stainless steel and 2-phase stainless steel.
