Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the austenite-containing stainless steel having deep drawing property, by having Al in place of Cu contained in steel having workability improved by the addition of Si, Mn and Cu in an appropriate amount.
CONSTITUTION: The austenite-containing stainless steel comprising 0.05% or less C, 1.0% or less Si, 3.0% or less Mn, 15.0W19.0% Cr, 6.0%W9.0% Ni, 0.5W3.0% Al and the remainder of substantially Fe. When the content of Al is less than 0.5%, the improvement of the deep drawing workability is not seen, and, on the other hand, when the content is more than 3.0% δ-ferrite is formed and the deep drawing property is deteriorated. Further, the remainder may be partially replaced by about 3.0% or less Cu, and at that time Cu and Al are compositely contained in the steel so that the deep drawing property is improved. But when the content of Cu exceeds 3.0%, the hot workability is deteriorated.
