Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a ferrite stainless steel with superior discoloration resistance at high temp. by reducing the C content of a Cr stainless steel and adding Si and Al.
CONSTITUTION: This stainless steel consists of ≤0.03% C, ≤1% Mn, 12W25% Cr, 0.1W0.6% Ti, ≥2.5% in total of 0.4W3% Si and 1W4% Al, and the balance Fe. The stainless steel having said composition has superior discoloration resistance at ≤1,000°C.
