Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an Ni-saving cheap high Mn cast steel having superior performance by adding a large amount of Mn and further adding an adequate amount of C, Cr and Ni.
CONSTITUTION: This high Mn cast steel consists of, 0.2W0.8wt% C, 0.2W1% Si, 17W30% Mn, 1W9.5% Cr, ≤3.5% Ni, 0.005W0.1% sol. Al, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.05% N and the balance Fe, satisfying (30×C%)+Mn%+(3.5×Ni%)+(0.5×Cr%)≥ 32%. One or more among ≤2.5% Mo, ≤0.5% Nb, ≤1% Ti and ≤1.5% V may be contained furthermore.
