Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the fusion loss resistance of a cheap alloy to molten zinc by adjusting the components such as C, Si, Mn and Cr in the alloy to specified ranges.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy compsn. is restricted as follows: C≤0.40%, Si 1.50W 3.50%, Mn≤2.0%, Cr 3.0W20.0% and the balance Fe essentially. One or more out of Ni≤5.0%, Mo≤5.0%, W≤5.0%, Nb≤2.0%, Ti≤1.0%, V≤1.0% and Al≤1.0% may be added to the compsn. This alloy is a cheap alloy based on Fe- Cr-Si, yet the specified compsn. provides superior molten zinc corrosion resistance. This alloy can be used as a material for manufacture of galvanized sheets, etc. without causing a trouble.
