Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Hot tool steel having good toughness and resistance to heat check is provided by using composition consisting of C: 0.17 to 0.24%, Si: 0.1 to 0.5%, Mn ≤1%, Ni: 1 to 6%, Cr: 8 to 14%, Mo: 1.5 to 4%, V: 0.2 to 1%, and N: 0.02 to 0.06%, or further each one or more of Nb, Ti, Zr in amount of 0.3% or less, the remaining Fe and unavoidable impurities. The material provides hitting number twice as large as that of conventional hot tool steel.
