Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a steel plate having a ferrite-martensite dual-phase structure and superior shearing edge workability by controlling an improvement in the hardenability of austenite due to C and Mn in a steel plate and the transformation behavior under continuous cooling.
CONSTITUTION: This steel plate having a dual-phase structure contains 0.02W 0.15% C, <1.5% Si, 0.3W2.5% Mn, <0.10% P, <0.015% S and 0.02W0.10% sol. Al or further contains one or more among <0.1% V, <1.5% Cr, <1.0% Mo and <2.0% Ni. The dual-phase structure is composed of ferrite as the matrix phase and ≤30vol% phase transformed at low temp. as the 2nd phase. The preferred transformed phase is martensite phase. The ratio in hardness between the 2nd and matrix phases is ≤3.2. This steel plate has superior shearing edge workability.
