Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain titled steel without increasing alloy elements by growing finely worked ferrite through rolling within a two phase region of specific temp. and fine bainite and islandlike martensite through accelerated cooling to specific temp. to a steel of the composition of an adequate content of Nb.
CONSTITUTION: A slab of 0.02W0.18 C by %, 0.10W0.50 Si, 1.0W2.5 Mn, 0.005W 0.060 Al, 0.01W1.0 Nb, and if necessary, ≥1 kinds of specific amts. of Ti, Ni, Mo, Cu, V, Cr, B, Ca, REM, and ≤0.008 S and Fe out of the balance unavoidable impurities is heated to the temp. at which Nb solutionizes at ≥0.01. Thereafter, it is rolled to ≥50% comulative draft at temp. above Ar3+150°C, following to which it is rolled at ≥30% cumulative draft in an uncrecrystallized austenite region of Ar3WAr3+150°C. Thence, it is rolled to ≥10% cumulative draft in a two phase region of austenite in Ar3-80°CWAr3 and ferrite, after which it is cooled immediately down to <500°C at 2W20°C/sec cooling rates.
