Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture bainite tough hardening steel having excellent strength and toughness and uniform perperty in both surface and inside portions by cooling an austentized steel with a specific composition, containing C, Si, Mn, Al, and Fe and impurities, in a hot water.
CONSTITUTION: An austenitized steel, containing 0.01 to 0.2% C, 0.1 to 0.8% Si, 0.5 to 2.5% Mn, 0.005% to 0.05% Al, and Fe and impurities, together with one or two or more of ≤2% Cr, ≤0.5% Cu, ≤2% Ni, ≤0.6% Mo, 0.005 to 0.05% Ti, 0.01 to 0.7% Nb, 0.01 to 0.1% V, and 0.0001 to 0.005% B as needed, is cooled in a hot water of 60°C or more. This method, in which heat-radiating rate from the surface of steel matches with thermal conductivity in steel, can lessen difference in property in thicker portion of steel.
