Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled steel for the line pipe by containing a specific amount of C, Si, Mn, S, Cr, Cu, Al and constituting the remaineder thereof from Fe and impurities.
CONSTITUTION: The steel is constituted, in the wt% basis, 0.1 or less C, 0.1W1 Si, 0.1W3 Mn, 0.01 or less S, 3W12 Cr, 0.05 or less Cu, 0.01W0.1 Al and the remainder of Fe and impurities. Moreover, if at least one of 0.05W0.2 Mo, 0.01W 0.5 Ni, 0.01W0.8 Nb, 0.01W0.1 Ti, 0.01W0.1 V, 0.01W0.1 Zr, 0.001W0.01 Ca or a rare earth element is added, strength, toughness and corrosion resistance thereof are further enhanced.
