Abstract

PURPOSE: To remarkably enhance the stress corrosion cracking resistance by adding a specified amount of C, Si, Mn, Cr and Fe and further adding Ti and N regulated under certain relation.
CONSTITUTION: This Ni alloy contains, by wt., <0.02% C, <0.5% Si, <1% Mn, 14W17% Cr and <10% Fe and further contains Ti and N satisfying (4N%+ Ti%)×100≤11. The C content is restricted to such a low value so as to inhibit the precipitation of Cr carbide after the final annealing, and the addition of Ti and N under the condition is effective in preventing stress corrosion cracking.
