Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the alloy for molten borax with excellent corrosion resistance by preparing an alloy containing C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo, Nb, W, Fe in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy containing 0.05W1.0% C, 5.0% or less Si, 1.5% or less Mn, 8.0W70.0% Ni, 15.0W35.0% Cr and one or more of 0.5W5.0% Mo, 0.3W 3.0% Nb, 0.5W5.0% W and comprising the remainder of Fe and impurities as well as satisfying a formula Ni+(Cr%-25)≥[6.C%+4(Mn%-Si%)]×10 is prepared. Said alloy is generally employed in the electric heating and good in oxidation resistance at a high temp. of about 800W1,100°C and, further, is extremely excellent in creep strength, heat resistance and corrosion resistance against molten borax.
