Abstract

196,998. Forsyth, G. H. Feb. 1, 1922. Disc wheels.-In a dished disc-wheel having rim-positioning plates located on a plane portion of the disc between its rim-supporting periphery 17 and a rib 21, the said plane portion is formed with recesses to receive the rim-positioning plates. The plates 24, Fig. 1, have wedge portions 25 which engage between the rim 20 and the periphery 18 of the disc. The periphery of the disc may be reversed as shown at 42, Fig. 4, to receive the projection 40 of the plate 41. A split ring 30, Fig. 5, may be used to effect the wedging action. The disc may be secured to the hub of an ordinary artillery wheel by bolts and a distance or filler member 16 between the hubflange 14 and the rear hub-plate 11.
