Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-In a wheel of the type in which a demountable rim is provided on its inner periphery with lugs which engage transverse grooves on the fixed rim and are secured therein by a revolvable locking-ring, the lugs 15 on the demountable rim 14 are tapered or of conical form to fit similar grooves 16 in lugs 11 on the fixed rim 9. The locking-ring 12 is mounted to revolve on the fixed rim between the lugs 11 and a flange 13 on the front face of the rim. To hold the lugs 15 in position, wedges 17 on the ring 12 are adapted, by the operation of a handle secured to a lug on the ring 12, to engage wedge-shaped slots 18 in the lugs 15, and are kept in engagement by springs 19 on rods 20 mounted between the lugs 11 and carrying extensions 21 integral with, or secured to, the wedges 17. When the wedges 17 are disengaged, by the movement of the ring 12, from the slots 18, spring-actuated latches 24 are adapted to engage slots 25 in the ring 12 to hold' the wedge 17 in the disengaged position.
