Abstract

144,985. Newton, C. E. Feb. 11, 1920. Detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs.-Hooked levers 7 pivoted on the hub of the detachable wheel are adapted to engage behind a flange 4 on the permanent hub, and are locked by a conical surface 12 on the hub cap engaging their free ends 13. The hooked ends 8 of the levers engage recesses 9 on the back of the hub flange 4 which is formed on its outer face with recesses 5 adapted to engage projections 6 on the detachable hub to transmit the drive. The hub cap is locked by a spring-pressed radially movable pawl engaging indentations on the outer end of the permanent hub.
