Abstract

Sliding-jaw wrenches; jaw faces and attachments; handles.-A spanner for operating upon difficultly accessible parts, such as the pedal spindles of cycles, is provided with very thin jaws secured to thick portions of the spanner head and with an aperture adapted to accommodate the side-plate or other projecting parts of the pedal during its removal. The spanner comprises two thin jaws 3, 5 mounted in recesses in the head 1 of the tool, the jaw 3 being fixed by a screw 4 and the jaw 5 by a screw 7 after being adjusted by a set screw 8 against the pressure of a spring. An aperture 11 is formed in the head to receive the side plate of the pedal. Both jaws may be made adjustable and the adjustment may be effected by a screwed spindle operated by a nut 13, instead of by the set screw 8.
