Abstract

Portable turning -apparatus. -In a valve-seat trueing-device, the tool p is adjustably secured by set-screws r to a holder n having a socket engaging a member d positioned by means of cones e, in the valve guide a. The tool-holder is carried in a bearing m mounted in a frame h having jawe j engaging the valvecap socket b. In a modification, Fig. 8, a hollow tool-holder 30 rotates freely on a locating- member 5 positioned in the valve guide, and is carried in an adjustable bearing 26 secured in the required position in the frame 15 by a nut 29. The apparatus is clamped to the valve - cap socket by screwoperated jaws 21 locked in position by means of nuts 24 on the studs 23. The tool is operated by a handle fitted over the squared end 31 of the holder and may be fed downwards by means of a nut on the threaded portion 7 of the locating-member.
