Abstract

139,123. Vickers, G. A. Sept. 18,1919. Portable turning-apparatus. - A handoperated device for trueing valve seats &c. comprises a hollow spindle g secured in position on the valve by jaws e bevelled to engage inclined slots in the head of a draw spindle b. The cutter p is adjustably clamped against a flange i<1> of a screwed sleeve i which is flatted to locate the cutter in conjunction with a slotted collar o clamped by the turnbuckle m which serves to rotate the sleeve during cutting. The sleeve is adjustably positioned by a nut j grooved to receive a split bush l connected to the sleeve by a nut k. A pad q and grub-screw r lock the nut after adjustment.
