Abstract

Couplings, automatic, convertible to non- automatic.-The automatic coupling-head a, pivoted to the draw-bar h so as to be capable of being swung upwards, carries at the end of swinging links b a link c for non-automatic coupling, and means are provided for preventing an upward movement of the head a except when the link c is in use. Each link b carries a short lever arm d connected by a link e with a block g, which, when the links b, c are hanging vertically, engages with a block f fixed on the head a and closes the opening in the buffer beam. When the link c is brought into use, the block y is moved rearwards and the head a is free to be swung upwards.
