Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Consists in providing ' under-and-over ' guns with ejector mechanism comprising pivoted hammers, V- shaped springs and sliding sears, the sears acting directly on the springs and not on the hammers. Each sear consists of a longitudinally sliding frame b. shown separately in Figs. 4 and 7, having a side projection which engages a lug f on the V-spring o. When the sear is pressed back, the V-spring is released and acts by means of a lug f', Fig. 8, on the hammer p, which thereupon strikes the extractor leg. Each sear is selectively operated by the projecting nose n of the corresponding cocking-lever. When the gun is closed, the hammers p are directly actuated by the action body and compress the springs o until the sears snap into engagement. Specifications 4245/08 and 2153/12 are referred to.
