Abstract
101,046. Kilgore, J. D. Feb. 7. 1916. Pistols furing amorces or caps.-A toy pistol, of the kind in which a long strip of paper caps is used, is made in two main parts 10, 11, Fig. 3, which are pivoted together at 12 and are adapted to be separated as shown, in order that a coil 17 of caps, Fig. 5, may be placed in the magazine, 15. The parts are locked when closed by a shoulder 28, Fig. 8, on the anvil 18, which engages beneath the top of the sham cylinder 22. The shoulder 28 moves past the part 29 when force is applied to separate the parts 10, 11, but undue lateral movement is prevented by a small finger 50 on the anvil 18, which bears against parts of the frame. The hammer 30 is retracted by a sear 32, Fig. 5, pivoted to the trigger 33, and it falls when the sear is disengaged by a lug 34. A spring 35 causes the sear to engage the hammer when the trigger is released. The caps are fed over the anvil 18 by a pointed spring-pressed dog 37, which is pivoted to an extension of the trigger.
