Abstract

422,231. Air guns and pistols. SCHMEISSER, H., 5, Philosophenweg, Suhl, Thuringia, Germany. Sept. 26, 1933, No. 26528. Convention date, Feb. 7. [Class 119] Relates to magazines for air guns or air pistols of the kind in which the pellets 20 lie one above the other in the magazine and are fed successively to the barrel by a spring 11 and feeder 10. According to the invention, the magazine 9 is removably attached to the weapon and is provided with a stop which, when the magazine is withdrawn, engages over the uppermost pellet and which automatically releases the pellets when the magazine is applied to the weapon. In the construction shown, the stop consists of a loosely pivoted member 13 controlled by a spring 14 and a pin-and-slot guiding and retaining means 12, 15. When the magazine is withdrawn from the gun, any pellets therein are retained by the upper arm of the member 13. On inserting the magazine, the member 13 is depressed by the engagement of its upper surface 13<a> with a stop face in the magazine recess in the gun barrel, and the pin 12 retracts the pelletengaging detent. The magazine is held in position in the gun by a spring-catch which engages a notch 18 in the magazine body.
