Abstract
1,002,167. Toy guns. H.YANO. May 15, 1962 [May 15, 1961(2)], No. 18632/62, Heading A6S. A toy gun comprises a retainer for holding a projectile within the breech of the gun, the retainer being so connected with the trigger that when the trigger is operated it is withdrawn substantially simultaneously with the movement of the striker into engagement with the projectile. The pivoted striker 12 is retained against spring action from contacting a missile, a ball, by a detent 13 on the pivoted trigger 11. The ball is retained in the breech by the retainer 14 which is either integral with the trigger or a separately pivoted part. Pivoting the trigger removes the retainer 14 from the ball and releases the striker by a trip action. Alternatively pulling the trigger 11<SP>11</SP> causes a pin 21 to move along a guide 20 pressing back the striker and allowing a ball to fall from a magazine 29 through an opening to rest in a recess in the trigger. A second pin 23 on the trigger which moves along the upper guide wall 24 passes through an opening 25 in the guide wall and the trigger pivots about pin 21 freeing the ball and the striker which ejects the missile. The spring 26 restores the trigger to its initial position and the pen 23 passes through an opening 28 to the upper guide wall 24.
