Abstract

Breech actions, sliding breechblock; magazines.-The recoiling breech-block 3 of an automatic pistol with stationary barrel impinges upon a rigid abutment 5, which is integral with the frame and is surrounded by a rearward extension 8 of the breech-block. The casing 4, provided with a sleeve 15 surrounding the barrel, is formed at the rear with a forked part secured to the abutment 5 by screws 6. The ejector consists of a rod 40 resting on the upper face of the body and attached to its rear end to the abutment 5. The sear 21 is connected to the trigger 23 by a link 24, which is provided with a pivot engaging in a semicircular bearing formed in the trigger. A shoulder 31 of the sear 21 is engaged by a notch 32 of the link 24, which is depressed to disengage the sear by a shoulder 29 of the falling hammer striking an extension 28 of the link. A spring 27 pressing on an inclined face of a projection 26 of the link returns the link to the operative position. In the modification shown in Fig. 9, the lowering of the link is produced by an inclined surface 34 or on the link engaging the hammer pivot pin 19 as the link moves rearwardly. The magazine is held in position by the nose 44 of a lever 42 with a pusher 45.
