Abstract
22,282. Clarus, B. Oct. 9. Breech actions, sliding breech-block; stocks.-In an automatic pistol, the hammer G and sear R are pivoted within the recoiling breech-slide J. The hammer is cocked by the engagement of a projecting roller U with an inclined cam-surface T fixed to the stock. The sear-releasing arm L is pivoted to the end of the sliding trigger D, and has a pointed nose l<3> which engages a bevelled spring stud P when the trigger is pulled. During the first movement of the trigger, the nose l<3> engages below the point of the stud, but further movement rocks the arm L, and its nose l<3> slips over the point of the stud P, whereby on the shot being fired the arm L is kept depressed as shown in Fig. 2 to allow the sear to re-engage the hammer. The back of the stock is formed by a piece B, Fig. 10, which is inserted between the two side plates of the grip. A trigger safety which is disengaged when the weapon is grasped consists of a lever W, Fig. 5, pivoted on the rear of the stock.
