Safety and firing appliances generally applicable; breech actions, sliding barrel.-In automatic firearms having forwardly-sliding barrels, the mainspring 11 is connected to a projecting lever 14 in the hand grip, so that the spring is put in tension only when the fire-arm is grasped. The lever 14 may be in the front or at the back of the grip. The lever 14 in its outward position, Fig 1, blocks the trigger 26. The combined sear and ejector 19 is pivoted to the barrel 2, as shown in Fig. 4, which is an under view of the barrel.
