Valve-chests; throttle valves, arrangement of.- In a governing-arrangement for marine engines, the governor operates a throttle valve which is placed in the valve-chest, between the distributing- valve and the expansion valve. Stop-gear.-The governor consists of a verticallymoving piston placed in the steam-pipe. A weight can be released by hand to fall on the head of the piston-rod. This forces the action of the governor and stops the engine.
