Abstract
15,170. Cameron, W., and Burford, H. G. May 3, 1912. Transmitting-mechanism.-In an internal-combustion engine, a governor 10 adjusts a spindle 12 to vary the fuel supply, and a valve 3 to vary the air supply. The air valve is worked from a lever 7 on the spindle 12 by a slotted link 8 permitting of lost motion, so that between full load and half load, the fuel supply only is varied. The governor is connected to a lever 9 on the spindle 12 through a floating lever 13 pivoted at 14 on a hand-lever 11 which can be moved towards the position shown in dotted lines in order to reduce the speed of the engine.
