Abstract

186,431. Wright, S. March 22, 1922. Shaking and jigging machines.-In a machine for moulding concrete blocks &c. in which the material is consolidated in a mould jigged by cams and covered by a movable lid, raised by a foot lever, the lid is oscillated mechanically so as to face the material. In the example shown the lid 11 is provided with a bifurcated arm 31 which is engaged by a crank-pin 30 mounted on a gearwheel 29 driven by a pinion 28 on a shaft 26. The cams 7 are operated by the driving-shafts 3, 3a, the shaft 3a actuating the shaft 26 through gearing 23, the horizontal shaft 22, and bevelgearing 24, 25. The lid is swung away from the mould by means of a hand-wheel 21 which rotates the shaft 15, through bevel-gearing 18, 19, and may be raised from the mould by depressing a foot-lever 17 which engages a projection 15a on the shaft 15.
