639,799. Cutting stone. MONTECATINI SOC. GENERALE PER L'INDUSTRIA MINERARIA E CHIMICA. Sept. 1, 1947, No. 24122. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1946. [Class 124] A multiple blade sawing machine for marble and stone cutting, comprises a saw frame 10 and supporting means 5<SP>1</SP> therefor, mounting means 9, 11 midway of the length of the saw frame engaged for pivotal and sliding movement with the supporting means, and further supporting means 5 for an eccentric drive, the operation of which via a connecting rod 14 effects combined rocking and reciprocating movements of the saw frame about the said mounting means. The saw frame and the eccentric drive are preferably simultaneously adjustable vertically on their supporting means, whilst the saw frame may also be offset laterally to the drive to allow the feed of stone &c. blocks from one end of the machine to the other beneath the saw frame. In the arrangement shown, the saw frame 10 is carried at its mid-point by a pair of guide blocks 9, 91 vertically slidable on 'the upright 5<SP>1</SP>, trunnions 11 on the frame engaging horizontal slideways 11<SP>1</SP> in the blocks. The frame is actuated by an electric motor 1 via a crank pin 12 mounted on a fly-wheel 2<SP>1</SP>, and the connecting rod 14. Simultaneous vertical adjustment of the saw frame and drive is effected by rotation of the shaft 7 through the medium of gears 8<SP>1</SP>, 8 and 6, 61, respectively.
