Lever - actuated pumps; strolce, varying; combined fixed and moving cylinder pumps; two barrels in series; indicating action of. - In a lubricator of the kind comprising a number of pumping-elements mounted in a common reservoir and delivering to separate delivery pipes, each pumping - element comprises two barrels in series with a sight-glass 5 b e - tween them, one barrel 9 being fixed while the other 8 reciprocates with respect to a stationary valve and piston 7 and serves as a plunger for the barrel 9. The barrel 8 is actuated by pawl and ratchet gear, a cam 28, and a lever 26, and the stroke may be adjusted by means of a rod 17 carried by a screwed sleeve 16 engaging an internal thread in a casing 15. During the downstroke, liquid passes from the reservoir through the valve 10 into the space below the piston 7, and from the sight-glass 5 through a valve 13 into the barrel 9. During the upstroke, the liquid below the piston 7 is forced through the valve 11 and a passage in the piston into the sight-glass 5, and the liquid in the barrel 9 is forced through the delivery valve 14. Each pump is mounted on the reservoir by means of two screws to facilitate removal.
