Abstract

Cylinders, pipes for.-Air is admitted to the mixture between the carburettor and the engine through one or more inlets d opening into the mixture passage and controlled by ball valves e operated directly by radial projections j on a perforated diaphragm i which rises and falls under the influence of the flowing mixture. The projections j may be provided with stops k, as shown at the left-hand side of the drawing, to arrest the movement of the diaphragm when the projections are in line with the centres of the balls, or may be inclined downwards, as shown at the right-hand side of the drawings, to effect a greater movement of the balls.
