Abstract
292,576. Etablissements Lyonnais Rochet-Schneider. June 24, 1927, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-In multicylinder engines wherein the cylinders are arranged in groups of two, three or more, each group being fed by a separate carburettor, the communication between the several groups of cylinders and the carburettors is such that when the engine speed reaches a predetermined value each carburettor is placed in communication with all the other groups of cylinders by automatic means. As an example, an engine comprises six cylinders arranged in two groups, the group 1-3 being normally fed by a carburettor C and the group 4-6 by a carburettor D. These carburettors open into a common passage A, B but are normally separated by a throttle valve P. At a predetermined speed the throttle is opened either by a mechanically actuated governor or by a link connected to a diaphragm subjected to the pressure of cooling water circulated by an engine-driven pump. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the throttle may be actuated by hand, but this statement does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
