Check loose - ball valves.-In a carburettor, the suction on the jet is increased at starting by a perforated disc 6, which is allowed to rest on on a series of suction-actuated balls 5 past which the primary air is drawn. Normally, the disc is held up by a spring- pressed pin 9 which can be pulled down by Bowden mechanism 14.
