Abstract

174,610. Goldschmidt Akt.-Ges., T. Jan. 29, 1921, [Convention date]. Addition to 169,703. Alloys.-Bearing-metal alloys of high lead content containing antimony, tin, copper, and Either nickel or cobalt, with or without a small amount of arsenic or phosphorus, are improved by the further addition of small quantities of metals of the iron group such as iron or manganese, or of the chromium group such as chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, or tungsten. An example contains 70 per cent of lead, 20 per tent of antimony, 5 per cent of tin, 2 per cent of nickel, 1 per cent of copper, 0.7 per cent of iron, 0.3 per cent of manganese, 0.5 per cent of phosphorus, and 0.5 per cent of arsenic.
