Abstract
260,789. Gedda, G. G. Nov. 28, 1925. Alloys. - Wrought iron containing nickel or cobalt or both is obtained by using as the material from which it is to be obtained pig iron with the addition of or previously alloyed with nickel or cobalt, and obtaining the final product containing the nickel or cobalt by the ordinary operations for the production of wrought iron. In some cases a small amount of copper may be present. An example of the product contains 0.03 per cent of carbon, 0.01 per cent of silicon, 0.07 per cent of manganese,. 0.006 per cent of sulphur, 0.021 per cent of phosphorus, and 3.57 per cent of nickel.
