Abstract
172,480. Kennedy, R. M. Oct. 15, 1920. Supports for articles to be heated.-A drying rack &c. mounted on a standard on a gas or other stove is capable of rotatable adjustment horizontally about the standard; the main part of the rack is pivoted so that it may be turned into a vertical out of the way position; the standard may be telescopic. The apparatus shown comprises a base 2 which can be clamped to the top of a stove and supports a hollow standard 1. Within this standard, which is split longitudinally and provided with a clamping clip 5, a tubular rod 8 is supported at an adjustable height and carries the rack 9 by means of a socket or spigot connection. The rack comprises an end bar 10 to the ends of which a bent metal frame 13 with cross bars 16 is pivoted so that it can be turned upright, notches 15 maintaining its position. Extra arms 17 are pivotally supported by slotted blocks 18, Fig. 6, in positions either alongside or at right angles to the sides of the rack. The end of the frame 13 is provided externally with a rail similar to a towel rail.
