Abstract

1,041,821. Tables. J. W. BURROWS. Feb. 17, 1964 [Jan. 8, 1963; Jan. 12, 1963], Nos. 826/63 and 1497/63. Heading A4H. A table has a stand of tubular metal contoured to provide a pair of legs 1 and a U-shaped base 3, a short arm or extension 4 being attached to each leg to prevent tilting. The table top 6 is supported by members 5 telescoped into the legs 1 and bent to support the top cantilever fashion. Winged screws 8 are used to clamp the top at the desired height, the members 5 being secured to the top 6 by brackets which permit rotation about the members for angular adjustment by clamping members 5 at different heights. In a modification which is not angularly adjustable a single looped member 5 is provided and arms 4 are connected by a rail 9. In another modification the arms 4 are formed by looping legs 1 at their lower ends. A book clamp 10 and fingers 12 may be provided.
