Abstract

608,077. Reading stands. AUTTI, O. Feb. 14,1946, No. 4715. [Class 52(iii)] A reading stand comprises a vertical bar 1 to which is adjustably secured a telescopic rod 2 to the end of which is secured by a ball joint 5 a rod 3 carrying the book support 4. The support 4 comprises a plate 18 to which are attached one end of each of four arms 14...17 each arm consisting of two or more adjustable parts to accommodate the support 4 to the dimensions of the book. The outer ends of the two side arms 14, 15 are provided with clamps 20 to hold the book open and with auxiliary clamps 21 to hold a few pages on each side of the open book. The lower vertical arm 16 is provided with a hook 19 to support the book from below. As shown the vertical bar 1 may be clamped to a bedstead. Specification 400,061 is referred to.
