Abstract

747,385. Garment stands. HAPPY, R. E. and BARBEE, F. R. Feb. 15, 1954, No- 4421/54. Class 52(5). A collapsible clothes stand comprises a post C, hinged to the centre of a U-shaped base B, an arm 23, hinged to the top of the post to swing upwards, backwards and downwards to lie parallel to the post in collapsed position, and a bracket 12 mounted on the post above the base member and having brace arms 7 maintaining the post erect by engagement with the side arms a of the base which are connected by a bar 3 having a wheel b at each end. The post has an upper part 5 telescoping into a lower part 4 and maintained in adjusted position by the engagement of a projection from a ring 26 with one of the apertures c in the part 4. The post is angularly adjustable about its hinge connection to the base by adjustment of a bolt 18 along a slot in a plate 16 secured to the post by the bracket 12.
